Willie’s Pizza & Co
the PRODUCTION process
The concept of Willie’s is centered around the active and bustling nightlife in New Orleans. Blackrock specializes in taking the concept of a brand, and creating specifically designed pieces to showcase it.
With months of design and rendering under our belt, we were ready to get after it and start creating this masterpiece!

Long days turned into long nights, and we were driven to get this completed within our time frame.
Our Wood Shop and Metal Shop stayed busy as we were focused on the task at hand.

We created TV boxes for this project that included two 40in. tv’s, and a center 60in TV that showcased marketing content and a custom designed chalkboard menu.
These were hand painted and faux finished to create a rustic look that Willie’s uses in all of their existing stores.

With a short time frame of a week, the challenge was on to complete the install before Labor Day weekend.
Our team worked hard throughout the sweltering heat of a Louisiana summer as we were committed to getting this job done in the time frame requested by our client.
Just getting started!So we began to tackle one of the most important parts. The Bar Front.
This included a series of panels made of Pizza pans within a wooden frame, and Can Letter ‘Marquee Style’ Lights.
After these were mounted, we installed led strips underneath to really illuminate these pans and make this piece pop at night!

Next was tackling the two centerpieces of this project.
The ‘ALWAYS FRESH’ and ‘SIZE MATTERS’ signs.
These signs were custom designed here at Blackrock and we partnered with Arter Neon for lettering that really pops.

‘Size Matters’ Kitchen signOne of the final pieces was installing our tables and their bases - The key pieces to a restaurant! This custom designed, graffiti style art, was drawn up here at Blackrock with bases that were laser cut with willie’s famous 'chicken head logo by specialty metals in Kent, WA.
Graffiti style art custom tables and bases.After a few days, this restaurant was really starting to come to life. All that was left was to install ceiling panels and corrugated tin to add some more color and pop to this place!

It was a rough week in humid New Orleans, but in the end the final product turned out amazing! To see all of our designs come to life is truly rewarding to us, and we are even more excited to build a long lasting partnership with Willie’s with many more stores to come!
